Location
Villa Venus is tucked into the secluded cove of Mavros Kolimpos on the southern coast of Crete — one of the warmest, sunniest, and most sheltered stretches of coastline in the entire Mediterranean. The area is naturally protected from the strong Meltemi winds that affect much of the Aegean, meaning calm, mirror-flat seas for most of the season.

Koufonisi Island
Day trip by boat from the area

Often called the "Caribbean of Crete", it is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled spots in the entire Mediterranean.
Chrissi Island
~45 min by boat from Ierapetra
Chrissi (also known as Gaidouronisi) is a small uninhabited island 13 km south of Ierapetra, and one of Crete's most spectacular natural treasures. Its name means "golden" in Greek — a fitting tribute to its sweeping golden-sand beaches, shallow turquoise lagoons, and the extraordinary cedar forest that covers much of the island, one of the largest natural cedar forests in all of Europe.
